Still having issues adjusting to time change
« on: November 17, 2016, 13:57:34 pm »
Hi, DD is 9 months and used to sleep 10.5-12 hours a night.  Since the time change almost 2 weeks ago she's now sleeping 10-10.5, she's gone 11 once maybe twice.  Here is her schedule (very roughly):

Wake 6:10 (this is the latest she sleeps now)
E
A
S 9:40-11:05
E
A
S 2:45-3:55 (I wake her by 4)
E
A
E
S 6:40, asleep by 6:55/7:15
Wakes once between 2-4 am to nurse

She's been waking before 6 more mornings than not.  I have a 5 year old next door so can't let her fuss too much but I am today because 5:20 after just over 10 hours of sleep is not ok with me!  Other mornings I just get her up and once I nursed her back to sleep when she woke at 5 but I've done this occasionally and its never been an issue.
The second nap has been hit and miss but the last 2 days have been good.  Howeveer still waking early. What can I do.

Hi hun, quick question what do you do when she wakes early? Do you end up getting her up? Lights on etc.? I know you don't want to wake your five year old. It looks like you might be able to push that 1st nap slightly? 10.5 hr nights is not that abnormal for two good naps.

Hi and thanks!  I try to let her be till 6 but she either chats really loudly or starts crying.  Both of which wake my son, who's bed time is 8 pm.  Poor kid got woken up at 5:55 this morning!  So I leave her as long as I can and then I get her up.  Maybe one or twice a month when she wakes ridiculously early and has had less than 10 hours of sleep I nurse her back to sleep for a bit.
She's definitely been known to wake early if I don't keep pushing nap but I just went from 3h20m to 3 h30m about 2 weeks ago.  Could it be time to push it again that quickly?

10min isn't much of a push in the big scheme so you could try a bit more. Time change stinks. When you do have to get hey up to not wake up your son,  could you keep the lights off and maybe rock her for a bit, or low lights with a book?

Hi!  Sorry for the delay...may try to push am nap a bit then, but I discovered her two brand new bottom teeth this morning.  Not sure how long that was going on for, but maybe that started on the tail end of the time change week and made it seem like the time change was still making things wonky.  Will watch how things go the next couple days once the second tooth is fully out.  Thank you!

Oh the joys of teeth. :) They throw a kink in everything.

Wow, we are still having issues! One tooth seems all the way out and the other almost.  I pushed her morning A time to 3h40m and still having early wakings so think I'll leave it there for now.  Wondering if I should start opting for a third nap instead of an early bed time on short nap days? We had two 40 min naps today, she woke from her second nap at 3:02.  Normally I'd do an ebt of 6:15 but thinking a 3rd nap and later bed time may be better?

Ok teeth don't seem to bothering her a whole lot anymore as she's not chewing on things as much.  Her reflux has had a rare flare up.  I'm at 3h40m for both naps and getting 40 min naps now.  Will try this A time for one more day and then maybe push 10 more mins?  She is 9.5 months now.
