Getting number 2 to nap - HELP
« on: February 15, 2017, 12:59:31 pm »
Hi all,

So hoping for some pearls of wisdom.

My boys are 21 months apart - 2 year old and 3 month old currently. With my first we were all  about EASY and I want to do the same with number 2. However napping is proving an issue. He keeps waking after 30/45 minutes. I try and get him back down but the reality is I can't leave my toddler unattended for more than 5 minutes - god knows what he could get up to!

The little one also desperately tries to fight going to sleep. Bucking his body and crying before giving in. Controversially he sleeps well at night.

Anyone out there got any suggestions or advice?

Thanks!

Being honest for my DS1 it was the first signs that we should go to 3 naps and I would be afraid of goin that direction. You may go for 3,5h EASY if he can cope so E 7, 10:30, 2pm and then more cluster in the evening 5 and 7:15/7:30. Or if he cannot cope I would go for 7, 10 and top up as late as possible of split feed at 10 and 11/11:30, than down for a nap no2. Feed around 2pm, another nap around 3:30/4pm. Feed at 5/5:30 and BT. With going to 3 naps routine at 3mo you can think of earlier BT than now so maybe 7/7:15.

Btw we are in the same boat right now with DS2 however he is 7,5wo and ready for 3 naps but not ready for 3.5h EASY in my opinion, but we will see how to deal with it. Keep me posted how it is going.
