Wake to sleep for 3.5yr old
« on: August 24, 2017, 07:31:33 am »
Hi all.... reaching out to get some advice pls?

I have a 3.5yr old girl who wakes up early at the same time each day regardless of bedtime. She has dropped her day naps already but still has carried on with this habitual wakening at the same time. Aargh!!

Just wondered if anyone had used wake to sleep at this age and had any luck with it?

Thanks in advance.

Our day is varied depending on the time she wakes up. I try and aim for a 11.5 - 12 hr day so bedtime is brought forward. Even without her nap it takes her a long time to fall asleep and the same if she goes to bed later. Quite often she isn't happy about going to bed before her sister and will purposefully stay awake until she can hear her older sister has been tucked in bed around 7.30pm. On those days she can easily do 13 - 14hr days. She's refuses naps now and can manage to stay awake during car journeys unless exceptionally tired. The days she does have a power nap then she goes to bed too late, singing or playing in bed till 8.30pm ish if not later so not to keen on re-introducing naps. Hence thought maybe wake to sleep would be worth a try?

By the way... did she ever grow out of it?

Yes he grew out of it but still likes to be up 6/6.30!

To be honest at 3.5 I'd say 11.5 hours might be a too short day I'd possibly go for a set BT of say 7/7.15

You could try wake 2 sleep for a few days just to see or allow a nap and later BT to see if it resets her?
