Clock changes ugh
« on: November 05, 2017, 18:06:05 pm »
What’s worse than daylight savings?! Tried to put lo down at 1130 which technically was 1230 clocks event back an hour he went down fine but is up at 1 so 1.5 hr nap. It seems he’s waking at 2 which is his normal wake up time. Ugh this is hard. Not sure how he’ll make it until 7 bedtime when technically it 7 on the clock but 8 pm. Any tips ?

Not sure what age your LO is now but my personal approach is cold turkey to new time, move all naps, meals etc to the 'right' time on the new clock and just hang in there until it settles.  At some point (variable length of time) they do crash and catch on!

Must admit I'm slightly confused by what you wrote though....did you basically just ignore the time change and put LO down an hour (clock time) earlier than usual?  So at their normal 'body clock time'?  In which case I'm not sure what you expected would happen??  I would suggest just take the plunge, push through to later bedtime, push through to normal nap time (i.e. an hour later i.e. normal clock time but on new time zone) and just keep going until he sorts himself out :)

Sorry for the confusion lol. No I did like you said and Just pushed through until normal A time. So when I put him down at 12 he woke up at 1 instead of his normal 2 hour nap he just woke at normal wake up time at 2. He did better today. I put him down about 15 mins earlier at 1145 and he slept through until 2! Think he’ll work it out in a few days ;) thanks
