Waking screaming!
« on: May 21, 2018, 01:34:39 am »
Ladies, I am at my wits end here!  My almost 7 month old wakes from most naps at either the 35 or 45 minute mark, SCREAMING!  On very rare occasion I can resettle him but 95% of the time I am unsuccessful.  He's awake for 3hrs, he still wakes once a night for a feed and sleeps roughly 6:45pm-7:00am.  Sometimes he also wakes after bedtime.  It can be 45 minutes, an hour or more, it is so inconsistent.  I can usually resettle him at those wakings but sometimes it can take up to an hour of almost non-stop screaming.  I'm going bonkers!!  What am I missing?
Note:  He is on raniditine for reflux, 1 ml 3x a day.

I can't check the medication dose but if it isn't keeping the reflux controlled then that would certainly explain the screaming. Mine started screaming when his dose needed increasing.

If it's not the meds then I'd try a slightly longer A time and see if he finds it easier to transition.  Maybe 3hr 15?
My DS also have a period of screaming on waking from naps and it was UT, they do not always wake happy because they are actually still really tired and know they want more sleep but just can't do it if put down a bit too early.

Another option - teething pain?

Thanks creations, sorry for the slow response.  I tried 3hr 15mins and that's helping a bit.  He still cries when he wakes but he's sleeping longer and it's not the screaming cry from before.

Well it's good if the screaming has calmed to crying.
How long are the naps now? He might need a longer nap perhaps??
