Traveling A Lot

My Dh has a home about 3 hours away from our primary residence.  His family lives there, and he's always wanting to go up every weekend.  It's driving me nuts with worry because I am trying so hard during the week to do EASY, and I keep the house pretty low-key because DD is a bit touchy.  Then we come up to this house and his family is all here and keeping her up more, and it's just making me nervous that it is going to ruin everything.  Even though at the moment dd is taking her longest nap ever, 2 1/2 hours and she slept last night from 7:30pm-4:45am.  So what am I doing wrong if every time we're here she sleeps better and more.  Even though she is only 13 weeks, do you think maybe she would do the 4 hour EASY?  And why is she sleeping better away from home?  Any thoughts?

During Tyler's first year, we flew home to visit my parents about every 6 wks. He always slept like a dream there! I always chalked it up to being in different surroundings around different people. We always kept to his routine, but I think all the new things really just tired his little brain out!

I'm not sure about whether or not it's time to move to 4 hr EASY. If she's consistently sleeping through the night and not getting hungry before the 3 hr point, you might try bumping her up gradually in 15 min increments and see how it goes. We did 3.5 hr EASY for a loooong time because 4 hr just didn't work well with naps for us. HTH!

It's interesting, because when I wrote that post we had just arrived home.  She woke up every three hours all night!  It totally stunk.  As for the Easy routine, it's interesting because she seems today to be eating her usual after 3 hours, and napping well.  But tomorrow it could be entirely different.  I feel better knowing that I'm not the only one making my baby travel so much.  I hope it will mean she will adapt to new surroundings better.
