pillow question...
« on: September 11, 2005, 18:22:34 pm »
I was just wondering when you all introduced pillows to your lo's and.. what kind of pillow.  Isabella loves pillows so we'd like to introduce her to one but we're not sure what kind.   We have been looking to see if their are any toddler pillows around but can't find any...

I waited until Grace was 2 but probably could have given it to her a littler earlier. I found a "toddler pillow" online, and it is wash/dry-able. Bad part is that it is hard to find pillowcases that fit it. A standard size would have been easier.

we tossed jaina into a big-girl bed at 18 months & just gave her 2 pillows then.  standard size, and they can go in the washer.  she's been fine with them... and sometimes she even sleeps with her head on one!   :D

We put an ordinary pillow in dd's cot at around 15m - she had a cold at the time, so wanted to elevate her a bit...  after that we just left it in there, and it's been good in the transition to her big bed.

Nathan got a toddler (flat) pillow at 14mths when I noticed him starting to sleep on his blankets.  When he went into his big bed at 20mths I gave him an adult size pillow.

I've had a toddler pillow for a while, we used it when dd was much younger and had a cold. I've only just found a pillow case for ot so I've put it in her cot today.
However I'm no holding out any hope of her using it as her head was down the bottom of her cot when I went to get her this morning!!! :D

I'll let you know how it goes!!!

thanks ladies !!   I'm going to check to see if I can find a toddler pillow online.    Like Nikki said;  Isabella is starting to sleep with her blankets under her head (and tummy & between her legs  ) so I'm thinking she just might be ready.

Kimberley; good luck with the pillow... lol

I know that Pottery Barn Kids and IKEA both sell toddler pillows and pillow cases online for pretty cheap.  Just thought I'd let you know!  :)

we've had some success, in a way I really wanted her to do something funny like lie with her feet up on it or something, just so I could post a photo!!!

She sleeps well on it at nap time, but in the night I'm not sure if its working or not. She's been really restless this week and not sure if it's teeth and her cough or the pillow.

She does look so grown up with it though!!!
