My ds is 3 months old, and generally doing really well.  He is a textbook/angel baby, he's been on EASY since a couple of weeks after birth and has done pretty well.

About 10 days ago he started sleeping through the night, with a df at 1030-11pm, he goes to bed around 8pm and then waking at about 5:30am, with maybe a couple of stirrings through the night.

The last week though he has started to wake up at around midnight or 1am, and then wakes at least every hour after that, sometimes he only sleeps for 7 min, sometimes 20.  It's driving me crazy.  the last couple of nights I tried feeding him again, thinking maybe a growth spurt, but I don't think that's it - it certainly doesn't settle him any better.  and he doesn't have much of a feed anyway, just falls asleep within a few minutes.  I've started bringing him to bed with me, just so that I can maybe get some sleep!

I don't know what to do, why he's doing this or what to do about it.  I dread bedtime because I know it's going to be a bad night, and that I will wake up feeling exhausted. He was doing so well and sleep never really an issue with him, now I feel like we're all going backwards!

HELP ME PLEASE!!!

Totally developmental.  Usually boys (as a general rule) develop slower than girls, but it sounds like he's about to start rolling over.  It could take up to a month longer b/4 he finally does it, but his little nuerons are firing away in his sleep, trying to make those important conections.  It will pass.  Just be consistent so he knows what to expect.  And have someone stay with you who can let you get sleep.  I have a girlfriend who works third shift, and I know if I was exhausted, I could get her to come over one night to help out.  Find a friend and nap often.

Thanks for your reply.  That did cross my mind actually but I haven't seen anything yet that he's 'developing' (apart from blowing raspberries!)

I have noticed that the wakings only occur after his df at about 11pm ... is this coincidence or do you think this has something to do with it?  Should I stop the df and go back to feeding him when he naturally wakes?

My baby boy started to do the same thing.... he wakes, sometimes crying or not.  It has been about a week - he seems to be waking up almost every hour now at night after his df.  I wonder wether it is a growth spurt... he doesn't seem that hungry.  He gets out of his swaddle, actually only his arm does (he's a side sleeper).  Have you had any improvements in his night sleep?  Any suggestions for a very tired and helpless family?

We actually have had some improvement on his night sleep, and I think it may have been a growth spurt - he didn't seem to be doing anything new developmentally - although they do new things almost every day at this age don't they?  It probably lasted a couple of weeks.  He still wakes a few times at night, but I just roll him over, put his dummy in, give him a tickle on the forehead (which he LOVES  ) and he goes back to sleep without too much fuss.  (BTW my lo is also a side sleeper, but lately he likes to sleep on him tummy - so after his DF my dh rolls him over and he just goes to sleep much easier)

I really hope things get better for you - I would say (in my vast expereince !   ) that it is probably a growth spurt or something like it, and it won't last.  Just hang in there, try and get some sleep during the day if you can, and know that there's light at the end of every tunnel!

All the best  :)  HTH

Thanks for the reply and encouragement!  Last night was pretty good - he only woke up twice, the first time I rolled him back to his side and tucked his arm in, gave him his paci and back to sleep he went.  The second time - around 4 am, he made some noises, played with his hands and eventually put himself back to sleep on his own, sucking his fingers!  I am quite optimistic that it will get better.... How do you know if they are going througha growth spurt?  You mentioned your baby sleeps on his stomach; are you concerned about SIDS and is he able to roll onto his back by himself?  I have a feeling mine would sleep better on his stomach - I'm just not sure if I can be okay with it?
