Waking up at 5:20 am.
« on: November 01, 2005, 18:31:07 pm »
My son is 4 month old and he started waking up very early at about 5:20 am and starts babbling. I wait until 6:30 and then feed him and he falls asleep on the breast. He goes to bed around 8pm. He wakes up a lot at night and has short naps. It seems like he has all the sleep problems possible. I rock him to sleep. We do follow easy routine. Can somebody suggest what to do especially with early wake up. Thank you.

HI,

Can you post your routine with naps/feeds so we can get a really good picture of what is happening.

Many thanks

Hi Inna

Your baby's routine sounds virtually identical to my 14 wk old josh. He's been a fantasatic baby with sleep and settling himself but has just recently started to wake up early in the morning - about 4.30am. try to ignore him but gave up today and fed him which seemed to do the trick but I dont wont to start any bad sleep assoc - I've got a 3yr old that I made every mistake with who still doesnt sleep through the night or only when she comes into our bed! Interested in anyones advice as to why waking early? :?

Hmmmm it sounds like it is a habitual waking if he is not crying to be fed straight away. Have you tried pat/shush to try and get him back off to sleep?
