too much milk before bed
« on: November 08, 2005, 09:23:13 am »
Hello...

Ds is 14 mths old and i think he is having too much milk before bed time,,,which some nights is making him poop and wake up early

his schedule is as follows:

6.30 - 7.00 1/2 bottle in milk in nuby followed by breakfast
9.30 snack
11.30 lunch
12-2pm nap
2.30 snack
5.00 dinner with us plus fruit dessert
6.00 full bottle of milk in nuby
7.15 another full bottle of milk in nuby after bath (falls asleep awake in cot about 730-8)

he will probaby drink a full bottle of water in nuby throughout the day

im not sure how the 6pm bottle happened   and im not sure which one to get rid of...or should i leave things the ways they are and deal with the occasional poop when it happens

dh thinks im creating problems that dont exist!! but i am worried he is having too much milk ...

HI,

I would get rid of his 6pm bottle and instead offer him a beaker of milk either after his lunch or with his snack in the early afternoon.  I think the fact that he is having 2 full bottles of milk in the space of 1hr is causing him to poop.

HTH  :D  :D

i agree with poppy pop.  i think that the two bottles back to back might be a bit much.  my dd is 14 months and is similar in schedule; however, she has her milk following her lunch before nap time, her nap is a bit later as she has a big sis to coordinate with as well.  but bottle either after lunch or with afternoon snack might cure the poops.  also, any teeth coming in?  i know my dd had strange hour poops when she was getting in some teeth.
