dream feed question
« on: December 23, 2005, 13:20:17 pm »
Hi there.  I'm new to the "dream feed."  Could someone explain exactly how I should do it?  Am I holding him, in his crib, etc?  Do I burb him?  I'm afraid if I don't, he'll have gas.  Thanks.

What you do is get him up, try not to wake him, and then gently feed him.  When you want to burp him put him over your shoulder and then gently pat him on the back.  If he still asleep, he would still be relaxed so there will be hardly any wind.  Don't change his nappy, unless he is sopping or if it is a dirty one.

Thanks!  I assume this is easier with a bottle?  Is this method bad for babies with acid reflux?  That's what I'm battling now, and I fear it wouldn't be helping the problem.  Any thoughts?

Never wake up a baby. Well I didn't anyways when your baby is hungry they WILL wake up. Most baby's wake up for night feedings anyways. And me I belife in attachment parenting so I always hold my son, Its really good for there develupment. Yulp you ALWAYS burp a baby. After one burp you keep trying for anouther one though.

and for the acid reflux I would just stick a pillow under my son so he is proped so the its a bit easyer on him, or her.

I hoped that helped
