wake to sleep
« on: January 03, 2006, 21:03:25 pm »
Has anyone tried this? My 10 week old dd is waking at 3.30 every night  :( taking very little feed and then going back to sleep. This sometimes affects her hunger for the morning feed. I want to try and move her waking time on a bit, nothing else seems to work so am planning on giving this wake to sleep method a go but want to know if anyone else has used it successfully as it seems to such a strange idea!

thanks  :D

Hi yingers74

If you have an habitual waking, wake to sleep is a good option to try.  Because your DD is waking at the same time every night, it is likely that this is an habitual waking rather than hunger.

You should try to stir your LO gently at around 2.30 - just enough to rouse her from her deep sleep state but not enough to wake her up.  You should continue for at least 3 nights to ensure that the habit is broken.  Your DS is still very young though, it may be that she still needs to wake and feed during the night.  It's worth a try though, right??   :D

Good luck with it
