How long does your 8 weeker feed for?

Hi

DS feeds for about 20-40 minutes but is feeding 6 times between 7am and 7pm. He only does 40 minute naps, but at night goes down at 7-8pm wakes for a 4am feed (I don't do a dream feed as I am not up anyway lol). Is this normal, I can't seem to get him onto any routine as he doesn't sleep long enough and then is too grumpy for play time.

7 feeds in a 24 hr period for an 8 week old is great!  He's probably feeding that often during the day because he's only getting up once at night - count yourself lucky to have such an uninterrupted sleep!  If you're doing a feed, then a diaper change and some brief play before a nap, it's enough.  At that age, he's likely to stay up less than an hour anyway.  You might want to look at the nap forum about extending daytime naps a bit.  But he's only 8 weeks - some babies take a bit longer to settle into some sort of routine.
