No Savoury
« on: February 01, 2006, 13:05:36 pm »
Hi

I was wondering if anyone has the same problem as me.  My 5 month old dd doesn't seem to like any savoury foods.  I haven't had this problem with the boys.  She'll only eat rusks pudding at the moment.

I keep trying her everyday but she just spits it out.  I'm a bit worried that I'm gonna have a feeding problem on my hands so would like any suggestions or similar experiences that might help.

thanks
nicky

Hi there Hon, long time no see! Hope things are going well with Bonnie. Join us for chat again on a fri, its on pretty much every fri nite again now!

On the solids, i have just been persevering with Red, he prefers the fruit too, but prefers fingers foods to everything!! What about sweet potato and butternut squash? Star with those on their own, they are very very sweet, almost fruit-like. Then add like half a teaspoon on a green vege per meal so she doesn't really notice.

have you tried pureed sweetcorn or peas? They are sickeningly sweet when pureed down.

Also, try adding some grated cheese to any pureed vegetable - it worked wonders for my ds. he now has cheese in virtually every savoury meal!

I don't know what rusks pudding is, but maybe you could try mixing veggies in it? Yes, it may sound gross, but I was often shocked by what awful food combinations Tyler would eat. You could gradually reduce the amount of pudding you use until she's eating more veggies than pudding, KWIM?
