Before I get in a pickle!!
« on: February 03, 2006, 11:11:48 am »
My DD for months was sleeping well and over the past few nights has started to wake anywhere between 2am and 5am. I think I have sussed that its her teeth bothering her ( Red cheeks, Lots of Dribble, Chewing on Paci etc etc) but im not to sure how to handle it. Ive tried settling her and sitting with her til she falls asleep but the only thing that will send her off is a warm bottle of milk ::) ::)
BUT I really dont want to do this because i know she doesnt need it and i dont want to create a situation where she starts waking for it ??? BUT i need some sleep. I have given her meds before bed but i think they may be wearing off around these times hence she wakes. I would give her more in the night, but i dont want to over stimulate her and wake her up even more. ( Putting Calpol on a spoon in the dark and getting it in her mouth is not much fun ;) - There tends to be more on me than gets in her LOL)
Any ideas would be helpful
Thanks
Kx

What about having a dose of Calpol ready in a syringe?  You can buy them at any chemist.
Does she have a lovey?

Yes,  a toy or blanket.  What about a hot water bottel with a furry cover?

Holly's been doing this lately, not cos of teeth but cos she's mega hungry!!!!! Noticed they are the same age so maybe its a growth spurt. i've given a bottle in the night when i was desperate and it didn't turn into a habit but i've strated stocking her up thruohout the day instead now. She's has a dinner at 5.45 ish, snack at 6.30 then 6ox of milk at 6.45 followed by as much more milk as she wants after bathm usually about 4 more oz. If shes eaten two snakcs and a proper brekkie and lunch this normally sees her right to sleep through. If any of these are missed shes up in the inight and awake at 6am for the day!
