Cheerios Monster! (in a good way!)
« on: February 05, 2006, 23:32:36 pm »
My LO was introduced to Cheerios this weekend, and boy does she love them!  She is happy to sit in her high chair as long as there are some cheerios on her tray!  How she gets them with every meal, and some fruit and veg purree.  Here's my question though... how do you count the amount of food she is getting with those?  For instance, how does many cheerios are equal to 1 oz of purree?

Hmmm.. I never thought of that! I've actually never measured what our ds eats... he ends up telling us when he's full (I can roughly figure out how much of the baby food he eats, and how much to increase/decrease... not good with math! LOL).

He LOVES cheerios also... we only give him a few when we are eating supper in his high chair to keep him occupied... they keep him busy :)

I don't think you can really equate them because purees are mostly water. 1 oz of puree would equal less than 1 oz of cheerios, KWIM?

I understand what you mean about them not being equal.  I was just wondering if there were some way to say "10 cheerios would be as filling as 1 oz of applesauce" just so I can keep track of how much LO eat.  She doesn't eat much, so the cheerios are a big boost to her intake... if I can figure it out!
