GAS in 6 mo taking solids
« on: February 07, 2006, 16:29:59 pm »
Read some of the other posts in food and do not think I need to post there.  I am having trouble with my daughter repeatedly waking with gas anywhere from 3-5pm.  Here are the all to real details:  she wakes each night needing swaddled, then groans and chirps, grunts, and then wails.  I have tried burping, not rushing in, and ultimately calming her to sleep out of shear desperation to keep my two year old asleep in the other room.  NOTHING has worked.  I was wondering if I should wean the swaddle to see if sucking her fingers could help her express the gas which has always been there since she was a newborn, but is just more pronounced now that she is on solids.

ANY help will be appreciated.

Have you tried any of the gas drops like mylicon, or the generic (works just as well but is cheaper)? You can give it to them separately or put it in a bottle if you bottle feed. Makes a big difference for my gassy lo!

Is she ever constipated? If so, try a little cool boiled water an hour after a feed.   I also swaddle and I about to try the process of unswaddling him.

Is he gassy after any particular food you give her? :-\
