Noticed you hadn't had a reply so thought I'd pitch in!!
If you are just starting - try a teaspoon of babyrice or similiar to see how it goes - gradually increase the amount to 2-3 teaspoons.Start with milk feeding first to get the majority of the calories from the milk. Just do this once a day for the first few days to a week - then you can try and add in a new food every 3 days, again start with an ice cube size if you are making and freezing and grradually increase to 2-4 if your LO will take it
Consider introducing a 2nd feed after 1-2 weeks, shot for around lunch and tea time, and eventually introduce breakfast at around 8 months or earlier if your lo is hungry

In addition to Clare's great advice, you want to make sure he's getting the "right" amount of breastmilk or formula first, then adjust his solids intake from there. If he's on formula, he should be getting around 32 oz per day. If he's nursing, he should still be nursing at least 4 times per day and not losing interest in his nursing sessions. Once you know he's getting enough of the good stuff, you can find a good balance of solids that's just right for him. Some babies are only interested in 1 teaspoon per meal, others eat several tablespoons, so it really varies quite a bit. HTH!
