Sleeping Away From Home
« on: February 19, 2006, 20:58:29 pm »
We are going on a trip next month and then again this summer. My son sleeps in a twin bed and does fine. I am not sure what to do when we go on our trip. He will have to be in a room with my husband, me, and our daughter. I am not sure if we should rent a portable crib and put him in there or just bring an air up matress to put him on. I am worried that he will not stay in bed being away from home. What have all of you done in this situation? Any tips for encouraging him to go to sleep somewhere else?

Thanks,
Angie

DD sleeps in a cot at home but when we are away she sleeps in a ready bed - the toddler character blow up up ones. She started this at 16mo and i really wasn't sure if she's stay in it, but she did!!! I took her pillow and duvet and she understands that she sleep where they are. She gets really excited when she sees it and can't wait to go to bed!!
I now just take this away with us when we go away, so much smaller and convenient than a travel cot.

Thanks for your replys. I just told my husband the other day that I am going to buy a toddler sleeping bag. They have some at a store here that has a little pillow with it and it has cartoon characters on it. I'll let him sleep with it on his bed a few times before we go on vacation. Then, we'll put it on  the air matress on vacation. Hopefully it will work.  :)
