Earlier and earlier...
« on: February 28, 2006, 02:24:08 am »
DD's wakeups have been getting earlier and earlier.  We're now starting the day at 6am.  But this means that she completely poops out by around 6pm.  She just can't make it to 7pm.  But, the earlier bedtime seems to bring an earlier wakeup call.  How do we stop this?  I'm worried that soon we'll be swapping days and nights again!

well, we're going back to the formula where she actually does nap, and when she does, it's either 2 naps lasting 1.5 hours plus 45-60 minute catnap; or she'll take a 45min nap in the morning, a 2 hr nap in the afternoon (after a long A time) and then a 45ish minute catnap.  Today she woke so early that we let her take an extra nap, are giving her a late catnap and will put her down between 7:30 and 8pm.

Any other suggestions?

If you can get her to take her 2 longer naps and a cat nap around 4:30-5 then you should be able to get your LO back to a 7pm bedtime. If she has an off day and needs to go to bed earlier then I think you should put her to bed. If she needs to go to sleep at 6:30 then its not to bad, if however she's crashing and needs sleep before 6 let her have a cat nap then wake her up by 6:30-7 depending when she went to slep then do your regular bedtime routine for 7:30-8.
Its most likely do to her naps being off and her being overtired. Your doing a great job :)
