I read this somewhere on this board and can't find it and a friend of mine's Nanny also suggested I try this so wanted more info- it said to reduce night feedings/wakings - to reduce the amount fed every night or few nights until it's down to nothing? My friend's Nanny said to start with 4 oz, then 3, 2 and then nothing (all in a row) but I tried that once and when I got to 3 my baby screamed for 30 min - so I gave up.

I wanted to know more info on this - I read here you do it every FOUR days? I can't find the post so any info would help. My baby is waking once a night for a feeding and is hungry I believe as the times he wakes are different and he goes right back to sleep after I feed him. I have not done a dream feed and debating whether to start (he's 3 1/2 mos old)- with a dream feed I don't wake him? Do I take him out of his crib? Am concerned he will spit up if I don't burp him as well.

Thanks!
Lauren

with a df u do not wake them up - although when first starting out you are bound to at least wake lo a little the first few times anyway! are u formula feeding or bfing??  it is harder if bfing and not expressing but is possible as i did it for months. i also burped dd as she had bad reflux/gas issues but would put her over my shoulder and rub on the left side going up and almost always got a burp - even if it was just a small one.

waking once a night at that age really isn't bad at all and your lo may actually need the feeding. what time does he wake? is it the same time every night? a df may help the situation if u want try it for a week or so and see how things develop. i do know what post u are talking about as i have used this technique and it worked wonders for us!!  i don't know if maybe your lo is too young and maybe u will want to try some other options first ie df, cluster feeding, etc. before using this method at a younger age (my dd was just over 6 months when i started it). regardless it is up to you and i am sure u will do what is right for you and your lo! good luck and if u need anything - let me know. here is the link:

Night feedings your referring to is Dream Feed, and I think you can find it on the Bottle Feeding Forum, I think that's where they moved it.

sorry should have been more clear - night wakings ( to reduce amount of formula) not DF which doesn't work for us but will try it again for a week. Thanks for links will check them out.

I formula feed, not nurse (I nursed for 2 mos but had very low supply) so he's all formula now.

I got rid of DS night feedings by slowly reducing the amount of oz as well, then I eventually subsituted the paci (which I shouldn't have done), then I started PU/PD because Paci was a prop. LOL

That probably didn't help, but if anything don't follow my lead.  =D
