Settling for Evening Sleep
« on: March 07, 2006, 21:34:33 pm »
My little girl will be five months old in a week.  We have moved her from a three to a four hour routine and she is back sleeping through the night -  :).

During the day she is reasonably easy to get down for her naps.  We follow Tracy's technique of winding down, swaddling, quick cuddle and put down with calm words.  At the most it will take me about 20 minutes.  However, at night she resists.  There are two things we do differently  - one her Dad puts her down and two she goes in her cot (during the day she sleeps in her portacot).  For the next couple of nights I'm going to put her down and she will also be napping in her cot.  But does anyone have any further suggestions.

Try starting the wind down a bit earlier and see if that helps some.  Otherwise, I think you have a good plan.      :)
When you're soaring through the air, I'll be your solid ground.  Take every chance you dare.  I'll still be there when you come back down.
