Does he need more to eat??

Nathan will be 11 weeks on Monday.  He eats 4oz with 3tsp. of rice cereal every 3 hours.  He gets 6 bottles in a day and sleeps from 9-6:30 with out waking.  Every time he finishes a bottle he just cries and cries.  Is he still hungry??  He also has reflux(thats the reason for the rice cereal)  and we were told not to over feed but I think he might be ready for more.  He weighed 12 lbs 5 oz at his doc apt two weeks ago.  Any advice??

If your lo is draining his bottles you should start adding an ounce or two to them - if he cries after the bottle he may not be satisfied with the amount you are offering. It cant hurt to offer a bit more - babies normally take as much as they need and are better at regulating their appetite than us!!

I totally agree! Babies are fantastic at regulating what they need.
I hope adding a bit more to his bottles helps!

How are his nappies?  Rice can cause constipation or gas which might be disturbing him.

Ryan has reflux and when he was younger he was the same , we did increase the oz 's of formula in a feed , we thought he was constantly hungry . thinking back now though we figured it was that he wanted to drink all the time as it soothed his throat . he had bad reflux , still to this day he drinks loads of water in the day. so it could be that your LO is still hungry but it could also be a way of soothing the throat

Yes, he drains every last drop out of every bottle.  He is not having constipation issues because he is on the Alimentum.  His poop is very runny!! In fact the doc said we could add more cereal, but I just don't want to give him so much.   I think I will try 5 oz.  If he starts spitting up I will go back to 4.  THANKS so much for the advise.

Sounds like thats not enough for him anyway, sounds like a good plan.  ;)
