Help!!Starting EASY and all ready out of routine!!!
« on: April 17, 2006, 06:00:43 am »
I am starting EASY today with my 4 month ds and already out of whack.Have had to work his routine around my dd school hours and started off bad already.
My ds slept thru the night last night which hasn't been doing since going on the bottle.
Routine was going to be awake 7 am
                                   feed 7.45 am
                                   sleep 9-11
and now going like this awake 6.15am
feed 6.30am (100ml,didn't think he could hang another 1.5hrs with nothing from 9pm last night)
                                 8am falling asleep

Should I stop trying the routine today and start 2morrow,or try stretch him for the next feed until 11.15am to get back onto the routine???? ??? ???

((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) first of all

Could you please post all of the routine.

EASY is just a guideline, not a strict schedule.

Hi Again Andrea
You just need to start the day from when he wakes. Did you try and put Harrison back to sleep and get him back up at 7am?  This would be the best thing to do, but easier said than done.

I would just continue EASY today because initially you are trying to get him to feed every 3.5hrs and stop his snacking.

Corrina has said something I said in the previous post, EASY is flexible to fit in with your family.

Hi!!!

I managed to get him to go 4.5hrs without a feed and get him to the time i wanted to get him onto, and he even didnt crack or cry in between the feeds. He had one hour sleep, which would like to get longer and has had a 2hour sleep after his 11.15 feed which I am really happy with. Now edging closer to 3.5hrs and no crying so will try and get him to 4hours.
I did the baby quiz to see what kind of a baby he is and came up with a Touchy Baby.He seems to be alot like it but not 100%.
I am jst over the moon,as today is the first time in along time where he hasnt cried.Think he might be a baby who need routine!!!
Am trying for this EASY to work in with our lifestyle...

7am awake
7.45am eat
8-9am play
9-11am sleep time

11.15am eat
11.30-12 play
12.15-2.15pm sleep time

2.45pm eat
3-3.30 play
3.30-5pm sleep time

6pm eat
7pm bath
8pm eat and bed

If this routine works out will be over the moon,as will really work in with my dd school hours(terrible hours)

Thanks for you replies, this website is a god send for me!!!!

Andrea-my dd is a Touchy (I put that in capital letters when she was younger  ;)) and you're right about them thriving on routine.  It seemed hard in the beginning that my life revolved around her needing to nap, and needing to nap in her own crib at certain times with a dark room and white noise.  But such is life, and making sure those needs were met for her made both of our lives easier (no pun intended).  I've found, however, that as she's getting older, the touchiness isn't such a factor in daily life as far as her attitude, but we both still thrive on having a structure to our day.
Congrats on the nap and feeding success.  Keep us posted.
