9 weeks old drop in Formula
« on: April 17, 2006, 20:00:28 pm »
My baby (9 weeks old) has been drinking between 5-6 oz. every 4 hours for the past week, but Yesterday she began drinking 1.5-2 oz. evey 2, hours (which she kept through the night and Today), it¡s driving me mad and I'm worried she'll  go back to her newborn schedule, any suggestions?

Hi welcome to the baby whisperer boards.  ;D

Can you post your routine please? usually at 9weeks Lo's are on a 3 hr EASY.
This will enable me to help you better  :)

Well, I guess that must be the problem, I haven't been following the EASY to the T, I have been kinda winging it  :P
I guess that would be my answer, huh? will give it a try.  But basically she had been eating 4 oz. every 3 hours, I change her after each feeding (except at night) and sometimes she falls asleep after that and sometimes she will play.  At night I feed her every three hours and change her only if necessary. That's our day.  I thank you for any advice you can give me.

At 9 weeks I think a three hour schedule would work best. This is the most common one for this age:
Wake up and Eat - 7am
A
S- 8am
E - 10am
A
S - 11am
E - 1pm
A
S - 2pm
E - 3:30pm
A
S - 4:30
E - 6pm
A
E - 7:30pm
S - 8pm
E - 10:30

Hope this helps a bit. There are many more schedules of other LO's the same aga as yours that you can look at. Check out this link. https://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=10384.0
