« on: April 18, 2006, 21:45:14 pm »
i have an 11wk old baby and i'm really eager to get him into a better bedtime routine he currently has a bath around 8 a 6oz bottle at 8. 30 ish and sleeps about 9.30. he then usually wakes again at 4ish for a bottle then sleeps till morning.
any ideas would be welcome i'm wondering whether to introduce cluster feeding or a dream feed.

What does the rest of your day look like?  Can you give your routine with approximate times?

Hello, my son is also 11 weeks. I aim for a bedtime of 7:30pm. I have a very short bedtime routine and have never bathed him at this time of day---I just don't think it relaxes him and I don't think he needs a bath every day---I guess this will  change when he gets older. I tend to do a very short awake time. I bf at 7, change his diaper and put on pjs, sit for a minute with him swaddled and then into his crib. He sleeps all evening and then I do a df at 10:45pm-----he will usually sleep until 6 or 6:30am. I used to be 7am but that is another story.  I have never done the cluster feeding as I just don't see  him eating much before the three hour mark.
the 7:30 pm bedtime can be a bit of a pain when there is family dinner elsewhere. Although I can put him to bed elswwhere---I never want to run the risk of him waking up when I put him in his car seat---especially at 9pm. I will do it if it is closer to 10pm---then I can df when I get home and at least it is dark outside while we are travelling in the car!
