naps and awake time
« on: May 26, 2006, 20:51:03 pm »
Hello!
My son is 6m1w old....my question is this - how long should his awake time be? About 2 hours and 15 minutes between naps? I am really trying to stretch to this but its difficult. Right now its more like 2 hours.
He is on a good "routine" and sleeps pretty well at night.
At night he does wake once or sometimes twice just to be re-swaddled and goes right back to sleep, so I dont feel this makes him tired the next day (yes yes yes I know, hes old to be swaddled, but he loves it)
Ive tried with one arm out and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt.
7:30 wake and eat
8 solids
9:30 nap
11 wake and eat
12 solids
1 nap
2:30 - 3 wake and bottle eat
4ish catnap (he still REALLY needs this)
5 solids
6:45 bedtime

If he is sleeping well, I wouldn't change it.  Enjoy it while it lasts  ;D

do you think its "okay" that he wakes once or often twice at night?
I go in and re-swaddle him and within 20 seconds he asleep again.................

Well, I would guess that the swaddle is a prop.  If you are okay getting up and doing this, then that is fine.  It may be a clue that it is time to wean the swaddle.
