My Son's "Happy Place"...
« on: June 25, 2006, 17:48:06 pm »
Good morning ladies. Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. Just a quick thought...besides putting our children on eating routines and schedules (which I believe, in the long run, is the best thing to do), don't you ever feel like forgeting the routines and just nurse your child just to feel the closeness and warmth we provide them? Sometimes I feel that I should throw out the whole schedule out the window and feed my baby on demand because, it makes him so happy (that's why I call it his "happy place") and actually, it makes me feel more calm and relaxed too...probably due to all the hormones that also take place to produce the milk.

Does anyone else feel this way sometimes. The art of breastfeeding is a wonderful and beautiful thing  :)

I especially love it when he looks up at me, into my eyes, holds my attention, and then pauses to give me a smile.  I have never felt more loved!!!!!

And the guilty pleasure of every so often letting him fall asleep feeding and have his afternoon nap on my chest - like having a newborn again  ;D

Yeah...I let my little one fall asleep on the boob too. Most of the time, I don't mind...they grow-up so fast and since this is my third child (and my last), he's pretty spolied.

Some days I do bf on demand, either her demand or mine.  It's something we both enjoy and with all of the self doubts and questions that come with being a new parent it's the one thing that I can be assured of that I am doing right!
