Can't use search function

Why doesn't the search feature work for me?  When I hit the search button, it takes me to google.  Is it not working right now?

When the server is particularly busy it will shut-down certain options so that the load can be transferred to the areas that are considered more important.  I will keep an eye on this though to ensure that the search function comes back online when there's little server load.

Is there any particular time of day that is better to try this function?
