Introducing Sippy Cup?

Michaela is 8 months old and is STILL drinking her bottles with slow-flowing teats! She has such a strong suction that everytime i try to introduce a Medium teat, she chokes! I know that it's about time that i start getting her used to drinking from a sippy cup so she can learn to hold her own bottles, but i'm so afraid she's just going to choke! I recently bought a cup with handles that has a teat, sippy cup top and a straw top (3 in 1) I've given her the cup with the teat (of course, she still expects me to hold it for her - lazy little lo  ) and she seems ok with this.

I would really like to advance her to at LEAST a Medium flow teat, but i don't want her to associate feeding time with choking!

Thanks Lauren - it really did help. I've given my poor little dd the FULL cup 3 times in two weeks and just expect her to start holding it and drinking from it like a pro!!!!  Silly me!

I'm going to start giving it to her every day with her solids as suggested with just a little milk in and see if this works. We really do expect too much from our poor kids sometimes don't we!!!!! 

Last question - should i stick with the teat top until she gets used to the cup or should i go straight onto the spout top or maybe alternate between the two?

I would just give the spout, but really it is your call from what your experience is with your DD.
