Do you have to wake them?
« on: July 19, 2006, 18:10:17 pm »
My son is a sleeper!  It's wonderful!  He's 8 weeks old and so far sleeps for 7-8 hours at night.  For the first 7 weeks of his life, I woke him every 3 hours which caused me so much trouble.  He would be too sleepy to eat and no matter what I did, just didn't want to eat a full feed.  So now I let him go up to 5 hours in between feeds.  He's still doing his 7-8 hours at night and sleeping well twice a day.  Is this a problem?  I feel everyone is waking their babies -- is that just so they sleep longer at night or is there another reason too?

Thanks!

One of the main reasons to wake LO's for their 'E' time during the core day hours is so that ultimatelty they are eating every 3-4hrs and they don't have too much day sleep that robs them of their night sleep.

Here are 2 links that will explain better  ;)
