Hi,
My now 5 month old is on a 3.5 hour EASY and has been doing great with his naps up until about 2 weeks ago. Where before I could just put him down with his paci and he would grab his lovey and go to sleep now he thinks the first 20 minutes are playtime and then he starts crying. He does not want his paci until he is absolutely exhausted, if even then. Occasionally shush/pat will work but only when he is exhausted. His awake time is between 2 and 2.5 hours and he goes down when yawning, rubbing eyes or grabbing his ears. He is clearly tired but as soon as he hits his crib he thinks it is playtime. I have not changed anything in his crib or the environment, he has started rolling over about 3 weeks ago but that did not seem to affect his naps when it first occurred.
Is this developmental or does anyone have any ideas on what may have changed with him? Two days ago he started daycare so that change can account for the last two days but he has been doing this for two weeks. I feel bad for the daycare lady because he is so hard to put down and she is trying so hard to follow the EASY routine but he messes it up by taking so long to go down for a nap that it is time to feed him again.
Help!
