Baby food gone bad??

Quick question:

How long does a jar of baby food stay good for in the fridge...assuming that you haven't been feeding from it?? ???

i guess i should have specified that yes it has been opened.

thanks...24 hours...probably still good enough for me to eat!!  yummy pears! ;D

The reason I ask the question is that on the top of the baby food jar lid, it says good in the refridgerator for up to three days.
I'm confused? ???
