please help explain this statement regarding feedings
« on: September 24, 2006, 14:31:00 pm »
ok here I am a tech support engineer at work and i'm having a hard time deciphering this statement. Here is the statement:

How much per day:
"1 teaspoon fruit, gradually increased to ¼ to ½ cup in 2 to 3 feedings"

ok say the fruit is applesauce and you get to the point where you've increased it to 1/4 of cup. Does that statement mean 1/4 of a cup of the fruit EACH feeding. Or 1/4 of a cup total between the 2/3 feedings?

I got it from here. I am just really curious to what it means so if anyone knows please please tell me

My reading of that is that you gradually increase fruit intake to a total of 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup over 2 to 3 feeding.

I don't think you really want to give your 6-8 month old more than 1/2 cup of fruit total in a day.   :)

Yes I forgot to mention that - it was a statement for 6-8 months.

Ok it means increase so they are having 1/4-1/2cup over the day. My DD at 14months is having that amount at each meal and i think this would be quiet alot for a 6-8month to have. Even though i am sure some would have that much at a meal if they were allowed but this would then start to interferre with their milk intake.
