I'm just starting but I have a couple of things that can't change. I have 3 children and the oldest is in school. I have to take him there and pick him up. There isn't anyone else to do it.
They wake up at about 6am. We have to leave the house at 7:45am. The 8 month old sleeps in the car til about 8:30am.
The 2 year old takes a nap at about 11:30am - 1:30pm and then we go to get my son from school.
How do I get the baby to sleep on a schedule??
So far it looks like this:
6am: BF
7:45: S in car
8:30am: A
11am: BF
11:30am: S
1:30pm: A
3pm: BF
5-5:30pm: BF and then sleep
But the 8 month old is exhausted by 4pm but I'm afraid to put him down because then he'll be up really really late.
What do I do?

I'm kind of new at this too but the reason that I am replying is that I have a 7 month old who I let take a short nap in the evening and she still goes to bed around 8:00. I just don't let her sleep more than a half hour or so. I go in her room and talk to her gently and she wakes up. ( happy too!) I don't know if that will work for you.....

I just noticed... he definitely nurses more than that because I feed on demand. So the feeding times aren't accurate, but the play and sleep times are.

I agree with the other poster that you should offer a catnap around 4 pm to help your ds get through the evening. Even though it's seems late in the day to have a nap, babies need a certain amount of total daytime sleep.

Definitely agree - I would offer a 45 minute cat nap around 4pm to help get your lo through to bed time.
What time does your 8month old go to sleep at night? How long are the naps during the day?

I just wanted to add that until my dd was 13-14 mos old, she had her second nap from 4-5:15 and still went to bed at 8 pm.

Dd1 had 3 naps until she was 9 months old (catnap at 4ish). She would go to bed at around 7pm so the last nap didn't get in the way - her wake up was 6ish as well
