What about the older siblings unsupervised while shh/patting
« on: November 16, 2006, 20:47:38 pm »
I have a 6 year old and a 3 year old. I have stopped the coming into the baby's room while mommie is putting DS to sleep. But they tend to fight or get into something while mom is in Micah's room.
I am not sure if this is practical to stay in Micah's room for 20-25 minutes while God only knows what is going on in the rest of the home.
My 6 year old is pretty good until our 3 year old dd starts messing with him.

What do you do with the other children--while trying to train the 11 week old to go to sleep on his own.

Any advise??????
May God give you the graces you need to take care of the gift(s) He has given you. Children are from God, what a wonderful gift to recieve.

I am in the same boat as you, except i have a 23mo and the only way to keep him from getting into trouble is by sitting him in front of the tv.  Sooo, which is better, teaching dd to sleep or teaching ds to watch lots of tv.  :D

I used the TV and still do sometimes.

Could you let your 6 year old go to his room and read or something and then let your 3 year old watch a video?

I have to confess to using the TV here too for my 2.5 DD.

If your DS does go much for the TV could you try a special bag of toys that he can only have during that time?

love

I am in the same boat too.  Have decided the only way is to put DD1 (19 months) to bed first and then do a quick bath and bed for DD2.  When DD2 is old enough, I will do their bath together.  DD1 goes to sleep with no troubles so hoping it will work out x
