Recipe ideas for 8month old
« on: November 24, 2006, 13:43:11 pm »
Hi there

I make all ds food myself and was just wondering if anyone has any nice recipes-if you can call it that-to give me.

He eats all veggies, but it seems so boring sometimes.

What nice finger foods can I give him at this age?

I give him rice cereal in his bottle mixed with his formula,is that all right.
I give him 8scoops of milk and one scoop cereal - sorry I live in SA and don't know how many oz that is-can I give him more scoops of cereal and less milk??

Hi there,

Have you checked out the recipe swap section. There should be something there to inspire you. As well as that, there are feeding routines posted at the top of this forum, I have picked up some great ideas in there that I never would have thought of myself. At that age, I think Riley enjoyed little pieces of toast, gerber fruit puffs anc cheerios, pieces of fruit etc. He did well, considering he had only one tooth. Those little gums work magic at that age!

You can certainly play with the consistency of cereal that you give him. Feeding cereal in a bottle in not recommended though, this article has some good insights as to why not

I hope that helps a little.
