Hi Kim,
Yes, Riley dropped his last night feed at 14 months or thereabouts. I will happily share my experience with you, but don't know how much help it will be as we were nusing and cosleeping, which I imagine is different to what you and Tatum are doing.
Night feeds were a regular thing with us, usually about twice per night, sometimes more if he was teething or whatever. It was always easy to nurse him and he would fall straight back asleep. Doing night feeds while cosleeping tends to be different that responding to nightfeeds when your baby sleeps in a crib anyway. When you cosleep, you and your baby tend to harmonize sleep cycles, so when he woke to nurse, we would both be basically in a state of light sleep, and whn he was done nursing we could both easily fall back asleep. So this is different than when your baby wakes in a crib and has to call out for you, and you may be in a deep sleep at the time and feel more disrupted overall.
When he hit about a year, I wanted to try to drop to one nursing, so I just decided to feed him once and resettle the rest of the times he woke. I knew he was getting a fair amount in the day and that he could handle it. So after a few nights where he fussed and cried for a few minutes, he just became content with the one night feeding, and a while after that, he just stopped waking at all for it.
So, I am sorry that I can't be of much help to you. It wasn't anything that I really did per say, it happened fairly naturally. IMO, I don't see anything wrong with having a night feeding at that age. If your baby goes straight back to sleep and there is minimum disruption in everyone's sleep, I would do it to be honest. Even now, there are nights where Riley wakes and I will give him a little drink of water. I always have a glass by my bedside to sip through the night if I wake thirsty, so I don't see why I would refuse him a little drink. I would have continued the one night feed if he wanted it, but I was just following his cues on that one.
If you feel it is a hunger issue, then I guess you could try upping the calories in the day or just continue on with the feed in the night if she is also progressing well with the intake of solids. But I am fairly relaxed as far as things like this go. If I had to settle a baby back in a crib I have no idea how I might go about things, so you should ask some others for their ideas and advice.
That's our story anyway!
