DS had an evaluation at the WIC office, today. While we were there, we had to meet with the nutritionist. Got a handout that lists recommended amounts of each food group, for ages 8-12 mos. (According to the US govt.) Thought it might be helpful for someone. No scanner, so I'll just copy it...

8-10 Months
------------
BF 4 or more feedings/24 hrs
or
formula 24-32oz (offer cup)

Cereal & Breads
+ All varieties of plain, boxed infant cereal
2-3 tablespoons (dry measure), twice a day
+ soft breads  such as plain bagels, rolls & muffins or unsweetened dry cereal
2-3 small servings

Fruit Juices
+ 100% fruit juice w/ Vitamin C
offer in child-size cup
1-2oz, twice a day

Vegetables
+ cooked, mashed vegetables
+ soft, bite-size pieces
3-4 tablespoons, twice a day

Fruits
+ peeled, soft, fresh fruits, or fruits canned in water or juice, such as bananas, pears & peaches
+ soft, bite-size pieces, no seeds
3-4 tablespoons, twice a day

Protein Foods
+ well-cooked, bite-sized pieces of meat, poultry or fish
   mild cheese
+ cooked beans, egg yolk, cottage cheese
2-3 tablespoons a day

Water
2-4oz, twice a day

10-12 Months
--------------

formula 16-24oz (offer cup)

+ unsweetened dry cereal, toast, crackers, bread, bagels,
   rolls, plain muffins, rice and noodles
2-3 small servings

Fruit Juices

2oz, twice a day

Vegetables
+ cooked, mashed vegetables
+ soft, bite-size pieces
1/4 cup, twice a day

Fruits

+ strips of tender lean meats, chicken, fish, ground or chopped meats, and cheese strips

Can't say I agree with all of it, but it gives you a general idea.

Gosh, Dominic has just dropped a bottle (4 to 3) and his solid intake has gone right up but he doesn't eat anything like that much, it sounds like loads of food...maybe it is isn't that much if laid out as the babies daily meals?
