hi there
I am actually having really similar issues to you at the moment- I think it's their age. It seems that wonky naps are really typical about now and will carry on being a bit all over the place until they finally go to one nap  ::)
I am doing 45 min nap in the morning and 1hr 30 in the afternoon, yesterday she went to sleep late in the pm and didn't wake until 4.15 so was up at 5.30 this morning. We seem to have a couple of 6.30 wakes (normal for us) and then a random 5.30 day. And yes, one day last week for the first time ever she woke at 2.30am and sang & played in her cot until 3.30am when she went back to sleep! No reoccurences of that so as you say, just one of those random things!
Keep us posted how you go
xx

Ahhhh, a wonderful 7 PM- 7:30 AM sleep last night, BLISS!

Glad to know it's the age and not the kid, hopefully we'll all get through this and come out sane!  I can sympathize with the early wake ups, although this LO is not famous for them she will pull one every once in a while... but my oldest DD was the queen of 5AM!  She sleeps til 7-7:30 now too so hang in there!

Have yours begun to crawl yet?  Maybe it's their bodies being too reved up, wanting to practice moving!

Mine has taken a few crawling "steps" where she actually used her arms and legs while she was up on her knees ;D.  At least she's not going backwards anymore.  The cutie had a hang of crawling, she was just going in backwards circles :-*

Oh, sorry UNCMomma, I saw the "7 months" on  your ticker, but didn't see the 3 yrs.  Maybe it's their new walking skill.  Are either of yours acting like they want to walk?

Wow, early crawler!  Nope, mine's been crawling for about 2 mos but no signs of walking yet... practicing pulling up and stuff but generally not in the crib.  I do think you're onto something though, developmentally it is a BUSY time so I'm sure they're practicing stuff, whether it be physical stuff or babbling 'words' or waving bye bye.  :)

I always thought I had a little HULK on my hands.  She was holding her head up on her first day!  She rolled over at the appropriate time.  But was putting weight onher legs, sitting up, pulling herself up WAY early.

I think it was all peas I ate when I was pregnant!!!

I'm affriad she's going to up and run one of these days.  I have dreams about that when I nap :P :P

Who knows, these babies are confusing to say the least!  :)

My first DD crawled early at 7 mos, but then got so good at crawling and loved it so much that she didn't walk til 13 mos.  Go figure!
