Help, please!
« on: January 07, 2007, 10:50:19 am »
Hi.  New at this, so hope it is OK...
My PP (Pumpkin Patch!) is 7 weeks old.  During the day, sleep is not a problem - she usually feeds and then either has a sleep right away (in her moses basket) or has some activity and then a sleep.  At night however, we have a different scenario!  The only way that I can get her to sleep is if she is lying in my arms or on my chest (and in our bed or with me on the sofa downstairs).
We are a) tearing our hair out and b) wanting to move her into her own room and cot rather than moses basket as she is fast outgrowing the moses basket.
Any advice / ideas on getting her to settle, please.

Yes, have got her pretty much on EASY... well at least during the day!  For instance, fed her this morning, had a bit of play and then put her in her basket (awake) and she has very happily gone off to sleep.  When I do the same during the night, she won't settle, and screams for England!  ???

Yup... just seems to make her more cranky.  Do you think that if we put her in her nursery and just go back in reassure, it would work?  I'm not keen on cio - altho DP made me do that last night... didn't work either!!

oh please don't do cio itdoeasn't work and just makes them lose trust in you :(
with my ds pat/ssh didn't work but i used to rub/ssh if that makes sense sometmes the pat just makes them cranky!
can u post your full routine like this
7am wake
7.30 feed
etc for people to look at sounds as though she may have her days and nights mixed up but in any case cry it out is not accepted on this site as tracy didn't believe in it and at 7 weeks your lo must have been distraught being left to cry :'(
