WOWI with great results then worse
« on: January 15, 2007, 13:49:58 pm »
We restarted WOWI with my son last week after getting off track after sickness, vacation, and possible nighttime separation anxiety. The first night it only took 30 minutes, and each night was significantly shorter. The 4th night he didn't even cry. Then last night, the 5th night was the worse so far. It took an hour and a half. We have been very consistent. Is this normal? I don't remember this happening when we first did WOWI at 5 months. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I was so excited with the progress we made and am now frustrated after last night. Please help!

Could it be that DS was not really tired? Were his naps unusual during the day?
Other than that, if you had ruled out other problems, teeth, etc. It may have been a regression. That's v. normal, and it's important to stick to your plan during a regression. If you've had good results over the past few days, just stick with the Wi/Wo when you put him down, he'll catch on quickly.
HTH!

It does happen, hang in there you are doing so well, just carry on doing the WIWO and be prepared for a few regressions until it really catches on.  Also, this could happen for other reasons such as teeth, sickness, so be aware of this also.
Well done.
