How do I add photos to a post?

I tried the insert image button and then pasted in my pic location (that I copied from browsing for my avatar).  All that shows up are two x's where I thought I'd have pics.  What did I do wrong?

You can't insert an image from your computer using the 'Quick Reply' box at the bottom of each page, you need to use the Reply button.  When you're in the Reply screen, click the button for Additional Options.  Once that's opened, click 'Browse' and select a picture from your computer.  Any picture or combination of pictures that exceed 550KB won't be accepted.  Once you've selected your picture click 'Post' as normal and your picture should be uploaded to the server and present in your post

You can also insert images using an imagehost such as Photobucket.  Upload your photos to the host and they will provide you with the necessary codes for use on forums.  The one you need is called BBcode.

Yep, send to mgbull@hotmail.co.uk  Either all portrait or all landscape work best, and send original full-size images if possible, they give the best results

I know this thread is abit old, but I'd like to do an animated avatar. I clicked on the pdf link in another thread, and also the Word document link, but the pages weren't available. Can you let me know how to do it - I have photoshop & macromedia fireworks 8 (well, hubby does so I'll get him to do it  )
