wet diaper

i read in the BW that newborns aren't bothered by wet diapers. i know this to be true for our 3month chunk. wondering when generally it starts to bother them, and keep them from sleep. i don't change our LO at night as suggested. just trying ti illiminate possible awaking factors.

thanks

I think it is important to change your LO diaper often, newborn or not. You should check it regularly. This will prevent diaper rash and yeast infections. (they occur in boys as well....fyi )

My two cents

This is true.  You don't want to leave a very wet nappy on your lo but you don't need to change it during nightfeeds unless it's very wet.  With my dd, I only changed her nappy during a nightfeed if I thought it wouldn't last her the rest of the night. KWIM?

I try to do w/out changing my 4mth lo's diaper when it comes to dreamfeed time. But, because she's a tummy sleeper, she sometimes wakes up the next morning wet around her tummy due to leakage from the top of the diaper. So in the end, I do change her as her diaper's wet anyway. Sometimes she wakes up and other times, I manage to keep her asleep thru the change. Either way, it hasn't affected her sleep for the rest of the night. My only worry is that she may develop the habit of waking up at nights but I guess I'll have to tackle that one when and if it does happens... In the meantime, I feel more at ease knowing that she's nice and dry for the rest of the night!
