What I am doing wrong?
« on: January 25, 2007, 12:01:04 pm »
Hi,
I have to ask You for some help. I have introduced pu/pd method since over a week. My dd is very clever and since four days I have put her down to her crib and she has fall asleep in few minutes without crying. The concern of mine is that she wakes at night many times mainly hourly. I get up and change her position (on the tummy, on the right side then on left side). Shortly after she fall asleep. I come back to bed, try to fall asleep and then situation happens again  :P I can't stand it any more...so please, help me  :'(

Shedulle:
5.30am - 6.00am wake up
6.00am -6.30am 5oz of milk
9.00am - 9.30 gruel
10.00am - 11.00 first nap
12.00am - solid
1.00pm - 2.00pm second nap
2.00pm - fruits
4.00pm - 4.30pm - 6oz
6.00pm - 7.00pm - solid
7.30pm - bath
7.45pm - 8.00pm - night sleep

I do not feed her during the night. If I do not get up she starts to cry and stands up in her crib then lays  back on her own on her eiderdown and falls asleep. Then I have to stand up to cover her.
What do I do wrong? Why does she wake up so many times?

Kasia,

I think she's too overtired after 6 hours of A time form her second and rather short nap until 8pm bedtime.
to help her sleep better at night I'd move her bedtime back a bit, to 7pm.

besides, if she wakes at 6am, first nap at 10 seems a bit late as well- hence only 1hour of the nap time.

why don't you try:
6am wake up
6:30 feed [5~6oz]
9am yoghurt etc.
9:30 nap
11 wake up- cereal [on formula. I prepare 150ml of formula +some 3 table spoons of cereal to make it rather thick]
13:30 solids (veggies + meat)
14 nap
15:30 wake up
16 fruits etc.
18 bath etc
18:30 bottle [6oz]
19 bed

what do you think?
we have a very similar routine [well, Maja naps a bit longer and wakes 6:30 usually but is in bed at 7pm anyway] and it's working very nicely for us.

HTH

Thanks for your reply  :)
I did not write her age because there is a info in my signature about it. Sorry.
She is 9 mo in any case...
There has so much time elapsed since I wrote it...
It was a teething, I think. I bought a toothgel for teething children with lidocaine and some homeopathic stuff. All of these were very useful.
So, our nightsleeping was getting better recently.
One more time: thanks  :)

Monika Ok, I will try it.
