Why night wake ups changed after introducing 4hr EASY?
« on: March 12, 2007, 19:17:41 pm »
Hi,

My LO who is 4 months old has started to introduced 4 hours EASY by himself two weeks ago. First he changed from 3hours to 3,5 hours and then 4 hours. Since then his night sleep shortened and our 5 am wake up has begun to happen at 3 am. Since last friday he has changed also his routine. Now it is sometimes 4 hours sometimes 3. I can't understand what I'm doing wrong.

Our routine is as follows

7:00 - 7:15 wake up - breastfeed (before(when we were on 3hours EASY) he was waking up at 8:00)
9:00 - 9:45 nap
10:00 breastfeed (3 hours EASY)

12:00 - 14:00 nap
14:00 BF (4 hours EASY)
16:00 - ~17:00 nap

17:00 BF (3 hours EASY)
18:30 - 19:15 catnap
20:00 BF, bath and bedtime

after his bath he want to be fed again and BF for the second time around 20:30

23:00 DF
3:00 BF (before it was 5:00)

I want to change back morning time and night wake up time so that I can have 5 to 6 hours sleep. It is important for me as I will go back to work in 3 weeks.

I also need advise about how to eliminate night wake ups. I tried PU/PD but it didn't work until he gets what he wants :)

Do you think your DS could be going through a growth sprut, hence the early wake ups?

The do go through a growth spurt at around 4 months, so this may be the case why he is waking early, and also wanting to feed on the 3 hour mark.

He can be. He has put on 300gr since yesterday morning !!!

Since 2 months he woke up two times a night last night. I hope this is all related to growth spurt. Is your LO changed back to his routine after growth spurt?

If you have any good tips sent your way please pass them on? x

I see that Amber is only 3 months, any chance you could back off into a 3.5 EASY instead and see if that helps?

I stopped BF my LO after bath and it worked last night. We are now back to one wake up per night. And he slept until 8 o'clock in the morning and his nap durations are now back to normal. I hope tonight it will be the same.

I also tried 4hr EASy when he was 3,5 months old and we lost all of routine. No proper feed, sleep and activity. And I immediately changed back to 3hr EASY
