Nitrious Oxide
« on: April 09, 2007, 17:55:23 pm »
Hi,

I'm having dental work done at the end of the month and wondered if I could have nitrious oxide during the procedure.  Anyone know?  I am pumping so I could pump and dump for a bit after the work if that is necessary.

Laughing gas works quickly in and out of your system. It doesn't work its way into your breastmilk, and is quite safe - if not the safest- form of analgesia. Think about it, if it was a problem they would not offer it to women in labour.

I agree. I got my wisdom teeth out while bf.  I didn't worry about it a bit.  If you don't feed while still feeling the "wooziness," I think it is totally fine.  If you are worried, put a call in to the ped and the dentist.  They will both be able to tell you medically.
