weetabix

okay, ladies, this might be a stupid question, but what exactly do you do with weetabix? my lo is almost 14 mos and ready  to branch out a bit in the breakfast department. i've read about weetabix at BW, and finally found them in our supermarket, but ???? do you just submerge them in milk and eat them cold once they're mushy? or do you heat them up?
thanks,
claudia

You can do it a few ways.
I usually crumble them up and mix with warm milk. They mix up like oatmeal, kind of. They are great cos they soak up a lot of milk, so if your lo likes them, they turn out to be very nutritious in many regards.
Some people toast them and put butter and jam on them. I have never tried this persoanlly.

For me, I leave the bars whole and pour cold milk over them.

Let us know what your lo thinks of them!

I do the same as Binx... 1.5 bars of weetbix (for Jasmine) and about 2.5bars for Isabella and add warm milk & mix. My girls love eating them!!!

You are just meant to leave them whole and put milk on them (can use warm milk if it is winter). My lo has a milk allegry so we just put water on his.

I always prefered mine crushed up but the other kids thought I was a little strange when I did this at camp.

When I was little my dad would crush them up and put pouring cream and sugar on them and I loved it. But I don't think that would be encouraged these days.  :D

I crunch them up and drown in milk, sometimes i warm them a little for DD.  DH hates them crunched up and just puts them straight in bowl with milk over them.

But we all eat them with a sprinkle of natural muesli over the top, as it's better than adding sugar to sweeten them.  The muesli adds texture and varying tastes and the sultanas add sweetness.  YUM!

thanks to you all. i ended up pouring slightly warmed milk over top and added some blueberries. unfortunately ryan seems to not like it. he picked out all the blueberries and forced down the bits that were stuck to his blueberries. but.... i'll try again and again.....
maybe i'll try it toasted with jam, or cold in any case.

Actually that is an Aussie favourite, not with jam but with butter and vegemite.

I am not sure you can toast them though  :)

What timing!  I just bought a box too and wondered what to do with them.

Thanks for starting the post and all of the suggestions.
