Having such a hard time....
« on: June 20, 2007, 14:28:57 pm »
dropping this nap :(

She's totally off the nap now which is fine.  She's not *that* cranky but definitely tired.  I feel so bad for her.  Its been about 3 weeks already, maybe even more.  She just constantly looks and acts tired :(  I just don't know what to do.  If I give her nap, she doesn't sleep well at night and only gets about 9 hours, and is tired and if I don't give the nap, she's tired.  She gets about 11.0-11.5 hours of sleep but then like once or twice a week, she'll get like 12.5 hours.  Most nights she goes to bed at 7:00 but there are some nights I put her in at 6:30.  There is no difference, as if I put her in at 6:30 she just wakes 30 mins earlier.

It really is so tough to see my normally happy baby so tired :(

How long is her quiet time during the day ? and what does she do ?

This made all the difference for us - Khy would go into our room and I would give him some quiet toys like books, puzzles, flash cards etc and then put on a movie turn off the lights and insist that he stayed there till the movie was finished. So when starting out he would have 1.5 - 2 hours as I would sit in there at the beginning and read a couple of books. Now that he understands and accepts the routine he is only in there 1 hour and this is enough for him

Things are out of control here.  I don't know if its tired or what, but she is spinning out of control.  She does have quiet time.  From 1:30-3:00. She lays on the couch and watches Dora. Somtimes she'll fall asleep for a bit, but most days she doesn't and goes to bed at 7:00 pm

Maybe every 3rd day she needs a nap.  I found that with dd1 that if she hadn't napped in couple days, she just needs to get a good one in one day and she's ok then for a couple days.

She had an hour nap today so we'll see how she does.  She's MUCH better after the nap than before so hopefully that'll help a lot.
