« on: June 27, 2007, 12:41:22 pm »
Amber is 6.5 months old.  If her evening nap comes at around 5 pm, should i be thinking of dropping it? And how should i go about it?

Thanks x

well it looks like she is taking good 2x2hr naps and a catnap. Many do start to drop the catnap at this age. Some of the signs she may be ready is:
1. fighting it
2. waking early in the morning (from too much day sleep)
3. bedtime is getting later and later.

probably if you would like to drop it, then you would need to stretch her A times out a bit, maybe just by 15minutes, so that the 2nd nap is ending more at 3:30/4
you would also bring bedtime forward to 7/7:30

It's a bit take each day as it comes with Amber at the mo, we've had a few hiccups in the routine. The day posted above is one of her better ones. She does normally have at least one 2 hour nap but it can be morning or afternoon, but sometimes one of the naps is cut short (atm its often due to waking up having a poo and not able to get back off again) But it's much better than it was, so we're heading in the right direction.  But I will try to read her for the pm nap and see if i can drag it out, as her bed time is late if she has that 3rd nap.

Thanks x
